The Nominees for the Actress in a Leading Role are:

And the Oscar goes to:
Sandra Bullock

For her brilliant role in the Blind Side. She deserves this award after she delivered the best role ever in her life. She’s done a fantastic role as a mother who adopts a Black American teen and gives him shelter in her house, moulds his life and creates a success out of him. As Leigh Anne Tuohy in the Blind Side she adds substance to her role, being of a high class genre she portrays care, respect, assertiveness, love and joy with panache. There is one scene where the young Michael Oher is unable to perform in the practice match, Leigh motivates  him to perform in a rather unconventional way. Sandra makes the Blind Side special. You can read the review of the Blind Side here. Amongst others, Carey Mulligan is the one closest to her after bagging the BAFTA awards. If I was given the say, no matter what I would have always given it to the evergreen Meryll Streep, she afterall has n outstanding record of 16 nominations puff!!!!). She did a good job in Julie and Julia but I prefer her other roles over this, the most recent was “Its Complicated”. Anyways Meryll Maam you can wait this year, Sandra is by all probabilities going to scoop this one. Maybe next time.

Again, out of all the contenders, I have seen only The Blind Side. But I would still say that Sandra does not have the kind of clean shot that Christoph has. I have heard a lot of good being said about Carey Mulligan in An Education... But I hope Sandra Bullock wins as I have a soft corner for her, AND she may never have such a strong shot ever again...!!!
